How to edit / Format existing AX 2012 Reports.

Hi Everybody,

I'm SSRS developer but I never had experience working on AX2012 standard reports. I need to reformat / Edit some of the standard reports. What is the best way achieving my goal. Please kelp. Thanks Mike

My group is having a demo today. I'll keep you posted. We too have a lot of reports to "fix".

In AX 2012 reformting/edit of standard reports is done in Visual Studio. Edit Dynamics AX Model Project:

For designing Reports in VS you can choose between Auto Design or Precision Design. Report datasource iseither choose Query or Report Data Provider. DP are X++ classes adding business logic to the processed data

Thanks. That is what we found in the demo. Also the employee who edits the reports needs system admin rights as AX 2012 doesn't have a developer security role. Sys Admin is the only role in which a user has the ability to access the AOT; it is greyed out for all other users. We are trying to work through this.
