When I run the "Historical Detailed Trial Balance by Period" report with a date range for our company's 3rd fiscal period of 2015, the report breaks the purchases into three different periods (period 2, 3, and 4).
Our fiscal period range is 2/23/2015 - 3/29/2015, and the report shows 3 periods:
Period 2 includes purchases made between 2/23/2015 and 2/24/2015
Period 3 includes purchases made between 3/1/2015 and 3/22/2015
Period 4 includes purchases made on 3/29/2015
How do I correct this?

Go to Tools->Setup->Company->Fiscal Periods and check the dates on your fiscal periods. Then go to Tools->Utilities->Financial->Reconcile and reconcile your years.
