Can I limit item unit of measure to Vendors ?

Hi All.

Let's say I have an item 'Potato fries' with a KG as the base UOM. I then also create 3 item unit of measures being, 2.5KG, 4X5X2.5KG and 5X2.5KG

I then created a recurring purchase line for vendor Y for this item. However this vendor only provides item X with unit of measure 2.5KG

My issue is that from the purchase order screen, after selecting the recurring purchase line, I can still see all the unit of measures for this item. Can i somehow limit the unit of measure to just 2.5KG for this particular supplier ?

Hello,

Unfortunately, you can't limit the unit of measure code to be only usable by selected vendors.

However, since you are using the Recurring Purchase Line function, you could personalize on the Standard Purchase Code Card page and pull out the Unit of Measure Code field.

You could assign the desired Unit of Measure Code from there.

You may want to consider customization if you are looking for restrictions.

Many thanks for your reply - to be honest i was looking for the UOM in the standard purchase code card but couldn't see it

Mind my ignorance i am completely new to BC and practically working alone !!

I can't see the unit of measure in the standard purchase card code... tried to personalize and add the column but there are no more fields to add, what am i missing please?

You have to click on the Lines FastTab. In your screenshot you are adding fields to the header of the page, if you want to add fields to the lines FastTab you have to select it first:

As far as I know there is no standard way, some simple customization is needed.

Alternatively you could consider using Security Filters, but this will affect all items.
