Error on applying the from GP2010 SP3 (KB2731285) to GP2010 SP2 (KB2552044)

Hi,

Few months ago after the upgrade from Gp9 to Gp2010 SP2 they complete use the GP2010 SP2 and this month they found out that there's an issue about duplicate OR number (Cash Receipt) then reported to microsoft and they suggested to install Gp2010 Sp3 to apply the fixes., However during utilities when applying the SP3 (KB2731285) the process has been interrupt due to the error encountered "There was a problem ascertaining product version information. Microsoft Dynamics GP Utilities will now exit. Please check the duinstall.log file for more information"

Product 0 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.301.
Product 309 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.294.
Product 949 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.286.
Product 1045 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.276.
Product 1493 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.276.
Product 1632 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.276.
Product 1878 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.276.
Product 2277 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.282.
Product 2992 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.276.
Product 3104 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.276.
Product 3180 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.27.
Product 3278 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.276.
Product 3830 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.27.
Product 4421 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.114.

 

The weird thing is the SP version is not updating after installing different version of Service Pack.

Step One

* Before applying the SP3 (KB2731285) I backuped first the GP2010 SP2 folder
* then appy the SP3 and run utilities to update. In the Welcome to Microsoft Dynamics GP Utilities window tells me the version (Version 11.00.2044)
* Then Click Next button and error appears "There was a problem ascertaining product version information. Microsoft Dynamics GP Utilities will now exit. Please check the duinstall.log file for more information"

Step Two
* Revert backup the GP2010 (SP2) folder then launch to make sure its working (successfull log in with out problem)
* then appy the lower hotfix KB2654242 and run utilities to update. in the Welcome to Microsoft Dynamics GP Utilities window still the version (Version 11.00.2044)

Even the hotfix KB2682502 using the second steps still the version is the same. This is the first I encountered.

What is the path of applying from GP2010 SP3 to GP2010 SP2 (KB2552044)?

Please help.

    Looks like the lesson company never got update. I would try going into GP utilities and redploy the lesson company. That should update all of the COMPANYID -1 values to GP 2010. Can you also send me the result of

    SELECT * FROM DYNAMICS..SY001500

    I am curious what company ID -32767 is. Also, try adding this

    SELECT TOP 1000 [companyID]

        ,[PRODID]

        ,[versionMajor]

        ,[versionMinor]

        ,[versionBuild]

        ,[DEX_ROW_ID]

    FROM [DYNAMICS].[dbo].[DU000020]

    order by companyid,prodid and compare the prodid from one company to another to make sure all products exist in all companies. All companies need to be on the same versions. There appears to be a few that never got upgraded.

    Actually the correct table name is DYNAMICS..SY01500.

    Hi Richard,

    Actually on version 9 before we upgrade to Gp2010 there's a lesson company but when we upgrade we transfer from old server to new server and only DYNAMICS and Company database has been restored and upgraded. We do not use anymore the lesson company.

    Now I can procedure the utilities I just removed the company id -1

    Thank you Ronie.

    The Fabrikam, Inc. (TWO/-1) sample database was at too low of a version, 9.00.0301 in order to upgrade to Dynamics GP 2010 directly.

    The lowest version build of Dynamics GP 9.0 is 9.00.0371 that you can directly upgrade to Dynamics GP 2010.

    To upgrade from Dynamics GP 9.0 to GP 10.0, you only need to be on SP2 for GP 9.0, which is 9.00.0281.

    It sounds like you resolved this issue by removing the sample TWO database.
