Cannot connect to view in Synapse Analytics SQL database

Hi,

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question.

I have setup a Synapse Analytics Workspsace and a link to replicate Dataverse to a serverless SQL pool. We then have a connection to this database setup in PowerBI and that is working fine.

As you cannot create views for a replicated database we then setup a new SQL database on the same workspace and created a view and selected data from the Dataverse replication database.

When connecting PowerBI to this view it throws an error saying:

Expression.Error We cannot apply field access to the type Null.

Key=StorageDescriptor

Anyone have any tip or suggestions to solve this issue?

Well, it looks like a bug of a Synapse workspace connector. Have the same behavior when querying data from serverless pool. Works well if use Azure SQL connector: docs.microsoft.com/.../tutorial-connect-power-bi-desktop

Hi Frode, were you able to get an answer to this question. I have a similar issue where I have created a view in synapse against data lake CDM output I can run the view and join it etc in Synapse when I attempt to access via PowerBI on the simplest view I get this issue. What does it actually mean?
