How to update Appointment date in ms crm online using process workflow?

Hi,

I've a date field in my custom entity. Based on the field, process workflow will create an appointment. This is happening successfully.

I need a workflow to update that appointment date, if the date changes afterwards.

How to do that?

When you are creating an appointment from custom entity, there will be a 1:N relationship from custom entity to appointment. If there will be only 1 appointment per custom entity record, then you can add an appointment lookup (hidden) on custom entity and attach the newly created appointment record. Now when yo u are updating the date field, you will be able to find the record and update it. If there can be multiple appointments for the same custom entity record, then you will have to create a custom Plugin/Workflow which will find the correct appointment record and update the date.

I'm in similar situation --> When i'm creating Service Activity for particular case : Using Workflow for creating two appointment but

If I'm making changes in Travel time of Service Activity ( change source to destination & destination to source ) then I want to update those appointments also automatically.

Isn't possible with workflow or ODATA JS? Can you help me out ?

Note : -

Service Activity has -> CaseID object

Appointment has --> CaseID object

ServiceActivity has no connection with Appointment (WF for creation and common has CaseID)

Also I need to deal with those CaseIDs which multiple SA's

I would suggest a simple plugin or a custom workflow that will update all the related activities. That would be a clean approach.

While updating make sure that you are not updating the appointments that are on past.

create another field on your custom entity 'Changed date' of date time type.

create a real time workflow to update this field only when the actual date changes which means this workflow will only work on field change condition.

Go back to your original workflow and a condition called otherwise if 'change date' contains data update the 'created appointment's' start date

Hi Prashant,

I have a question, After creating two appointments with help of Workflow and taking information from Service Activity record.

Whenever Service Activity record updates, how its going to update same those two appointment, As I couldn't find relation between them except CaseID.

What if same CaseID have multiple appointments, service activity in it?

Can you explain with an example ?
