Hi,

I need to receive an 'email notification' whenever a 'job queue gets failed or is at an error stage'.

For that purpose, I  created an email account using Account type SMTP and tried to send a Test email but coming up with this message.

Any suggestions/ideas on how can I overcome this?

Thanks & Regards

You need to test it first why your email account is not working check the password and email setting.

    Thanks.

Nitin Verma, the credentials are correct.

Also, I am getting this on SMTP Mail setup when I tried to 'Test Email Setup'.

    Hi Bilal,

Seems like there is some problem with your SMTP configuration. check your ports and try sending test email.

    Hi Muhammad Faizan Subhani,

The server Url and server ports are fine as I had applied them through the 'Apply Office 365 Server Settings' option.

Are you using Multi-Factor Authentication for your email address which you have entered in BC?

If yes, then you need to generate App Password from your Office 365 Account and paste it in BC in Password field (instead of your usual password)

    @Rahul

Yes, my organization does have 2FA enabled, but I'm unable to see App Password feature on additional security page

    Hello,

SMTP Authentication is disabled for the tenant. If this is a new Exchange Online subscription that was never used for Basic Authentication, it may be that your Exchange Online subscription does not allow basic authentication and the scenario will never work with Basic Authentication with or without MFA enabled.

    learn.microsoft.com/.../deprecation-of-basic-authentication-exchange-online

    Hope it explains the scenario.

Please contact your organization administrator, this feature is generally turned off by your org admins. Probably this can solve your error
