Retail store closed

Hi
I wanted to ask a query about the STORES in Retail module and master planning. So, at the end of the year, some stores are closed for few weeks. In this case, I can set CLOSED for in Calendar working time and assign that calendar to Warehouses linked to the Stores.
How this CLOSED option will affect the master planning and forecasting for the warehouse , Please let me know.
I do not want Master planning and forecast to generate the planned order for that period either. Is there any way to achieving this?
Please help.

    Hi Chetan,

There are 2  ways to prevent planned orders to be generated for the stores that are closed. Setting working calendar to Close will not help in preventing the Master plan engine to generate planned orders. This action will primarily influence the planned dates for receiving and shipping activities.
    1. Change the coverage group to "Manual" in the Item coverage group page for the stores that are closed. In order to make this effective use the "Bulk update" feature. You need to update the coverage group to the previous value when the stores are open again.

    2. On the Warehouse master page, in the Master planning TAB, set the flag Manual to Yes for Item coverage . In order for this to work, you need to make sure that Storage dimension group used on the items has the "Coverage plan by dimension" parameter enable.

When it comes to the forecasting, if you are using Demand planning app, the app has a feature that allows you you freeze a period of time for the desired dimension combination.

If you are using Planning optimalization -"Execute demand forecast for a certain period of time" can be consider to prevent forecast generation in a certain period of time.

If none of this options are used, you may consider to explore the demand forecasting parameters, manage forecast dimensions and filter item allocation keys to exclude the closure period. You may consider to adjust the forecast horizon to exclude the closure period.

    Best regards.

    Hi Mia
    Thanks for your response.
I cant use the config of Warehouse and storage dimension group suggested by you as We will be forecasting for whole year and we want the forecast to stop for some warehouse and stop for Dec month only.
However, I believe, I could use freeze time option suggested by you for dimension combination ( yes, we are using Demand plan : ) ). Could you please let me know or send a link about how to freeze forecast for a period and dimension combi.

    Thanks,
    Chetan

    Hi Chetan,

You need first to configure the feature by adding conditions. Run the wizard in order to configure. Select table, column and value. Add as many conditions you need to define the correct dimensions.
Change the values in your forecast and run it after the time freeze is configured and added to your forecast model.
Here is a screenshot from Microsoft Learn that describes the feature.

Important to choose the time bucket that you have configured your time series in. If it is monthly choose monthly.

    Best regards,
    Mia
