HI Team
Anyone knows how to Import Data From NAV to Business central which include previous 2 year transaction history. I Import the data through Package data has been imported but it previous transaction is not migrated. thanks in advance for your time.
Depends on the version of NAV check this first at least: docs.microsoft.com/.../migrate-data
You will need consider the version though as it has limits: docs.microsoft.com/.../faq-intelligent-cloud
Failing that you are looking at doing a lot of journal postings or creating a migration routine that takes posted entries and converts them to a journal before posting them as g/l entries again. To get the sub ledgers you will need full postings too.
Found that customers generally want historical data for reporting purposes. Potentially more cost/time effective to place the data in a data cube or in CDS.
We found the best way to achieve this is to upgrade them to on premise first as it is easier to take the historical transactions.
Then you can replicate to the cloud and eventually remove the on prem once out of synchronisation
Biggest thing to consider here is you have options. Each have varying time/cost implications. The main factor for the decision should be the UX come the end of it.
