Howdy all,
We have an existing running 2013R2 GP installation with a shared network folder for Forms/Dictionaries etc...
I have built a new machine, made a copy of the shared data folder, and copied the databases out to a new SQL server to do a test run of the upgrade.
GP upgraded all the tables just fine, but when I run the GP Utilities on the required first-run, I get strange errors trying to do the forms upgrades.
1) If I do it in place at the copied network share, I get an error the the file could not be opened -- the dictionaries, which inherit permissions from the parent directory somehow have file permissions removed from them... OK... weird, but not insurmountable.
2) I copy the original shared data folder again (the working one of course) over to the local drive on the test server, this time when I attempt to upgrade the form, the GP Utility just crashes at stage 1 of the form upgrade (I've tried 3 of the ~10 or so forms that I have, no luck on any of them)
Any other suggestions? Anyone else encountering this?
I have a suspicion that the shared data directory permissions weirdness is tightly intertwined with the error that's been persisting since the 2010 version of the client installer where I have two boxes pop up "Permission Denied" but have been unable to resolve.
