Exchange rate Gain / Loss export Dynamics SL 2013 R2

Hi everyone,

in the last 2 months I have done some small tests for work, about simple stuff on invoice, payment, DBA, CRD, MultiCurrency.

So where I have a problem is that in Navision 2009, Dynamics GP and now Dynamics SL multicurrency works fine and I can see it on a detailed report, but what I want to do is to export just the gains/loss that are on the specific account (in my case 9330 account in Dynamics SL).

What I tried to do is maybe make a journal of gains/losses and export that, or just to export the data from the whole ledger where gains would be seen as well, but somhow the only place I can see the gain/loss in on the reports or detailed within the software.

Is there any way to show or post  only gains or losses on the ledger.

I have not done much work with Dynamics in accounting, but I'm always willing to learn.

Many thanks for you help and a Happy 2016 to everyone.

Milos

    Happy new year too.

I don't know if I follow correctly. I run a multicurrency environment. I asume your problem is about the following transaction configuration:

Some obligation in other currency 9330 100.00
Payment for the obligation at another rate YYYY 102.00
    Multicurrency loss ZZZZ 2.00
    Totals 102.00 102.00

ZZZZ would be the already configured gains/loss account for the currency involved. YYYY may be some cash account. You want to extract data about the "2.00" amounts, but only those involving 9330 account in the same transaction? If so, there is no built-in report for that.

There are some helpful tools, though. You might check under QuickQueries / General Ledger / Journal Transactions and filter only the ZZZZ account transactions and take note of the following fields:

    • Subaccount: the gain/loss may retain the subaccount from the original transaction.
    • Module: this might help you to tell wether the amounts come from Vendor, Customer, Inventory, etc.
    • Create Program: a little tricky, but a good hint about which business process is producing the gain/loss.
    • Create User: same thing.

If you still need to focus in the original account, you have to nest-query out of it.
