Anyone know about any sales tax modules that work with Great Plains.

One of our client is looking for a module that will take the customer’s shipping zip code and calculate the correct sales tax amount and split that amount among the appropriate taxing authorities: state, county, and city.

1. Create three type of Tax Details in Tax Details Maintenance window for coutry, state and city.

2. Create a new Tax Schedule ID in Tax Schedule Maintenance window and assign these 3 Tax Detail to Tax Schedule ID.

3. In customer maintenance window, assign the Tax Schedule ID which you have created in step 2 to appropriate customers.

For Example:

Assume, you have created 3 tax details for city, state and country with 10% equally. Then you have assigned these to tax schedule id and that schedule id was assigned to the customer A.

If you sell a item to the customer A with value of $300.00, the sale tax calculated for this transaction is $30.00 (City Tax = $10.00, State Tax = 10.00 and Country Tax = $10.00). So, the total transaction amount should be $330.00 (Sales Amount = $300.00 and Sales Tax = $30.00).
