Quick Find phone number search

I'm having trouble finding a fix for what I'm trying to accomplish. I have added javascript to the phone number field to format the phone number to (xxx) xxx-xxxx but when users use quick find I want them to be able to type xxxxxxxxxx and have the lead come up. I don't want to use wildcards because it would be the same as typing the parentheses and dashes. Any suggestions.

    Hi,

    You can create another field which will copy and store the Phone # in the format xxxxxxxxxx and enable quick find on it.

    So when a user searches the record will show.

    I tried copying the field but it copies in the (xxx) xxx-xxxx format and can't get it revert back to xxxxxxxxxx even with javascript. How would you suggest I copy the field?

    Create a new text only field.

    Write a JS to copy the data to the text only field without formatting.

    Or

    a workflow to copy the data before it does formatting from the original phone field to new text field.

    What would the JS be to copy from text field "mobilephone" to "new_primaryphonesearch" ?

    I tried a workflow to copy the field but it happens after the the format changes. Thank you for your help.

    Hi Brad,

    Please try the following JS code.

    var mobilephone = Xrm.Page.getAttribute("mobilephone").getValue();
    mobilephone = mobilephone.replace(/\D+/g, "");
    Xrm.Page.getAttribute("new_primaryphonesearch").setValue(mobilephone);

    Hope this helps.

    Hello Brad,

    A CTI solution such as Tenfold not only will allow integration between Asterisk and your CRM but also allow users to have features like call pop up which shows the details of the customer regardless if it's an incoming or outgoing call as long as there's a match from your CRM record; and a click to dial features which turns any found phone numbers (web, spreadsheets, etc) and make them click to dial. They support MS Dynamics integration. You can check out the integrations list for Tenfold here www.tenfold.com/.../dynamics
