CRM Portal Web Form Step configuration issue

The Attach File section in the portal Entity Form has two important attributes - Attach File Save Option and Accept File Types.  As I understand, the Attach File Save Option is key to attaching files in CRM Notes and Accept File Types is used for specifying acceptable file types.

These two attributes are missing in the Web Form Step form which means we cannot specify where to store the attached files (note there is another attribute Attach File Storage Location but it doesn't seem to work) and restrict attachments to given file types.

Can someone please suggest the best way of handling attachments through web form steps?  I know it can be done through notes but from a portal user perspective, it is not a great experience.

    Hi Hari,

"Attach File Storage Location" and "Restrict Files to Accepted Types" are fields introduced from Adxstudio 7.0.0020 to Entity Forms.  These are not added to Web Forms yet but hopefully will be added in future.

"Attach File" field is available in Web Form Step > Load Form Tab Step Type.  Web Form steps don't support Azure Storage yet, as far as I know, therefore no need of that field.  You can still use Accept field to specify the MIME type.

    Hi Nadeeja,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I tried using the MIME type in the web form step.  If I set the restrict file types to yes, I get a validation error even though the attached file is the accepted type.  For example if I set the MIME type to .pdf and check the restrict file type to yes, I get a file type validation error when I upload pdf files.

Re: Attaching files through the web forms, it used to work till 22nd December and stopped working after Dynamics 365 service maintenance update (8.2) applied automatically on 22 December 10:00 UTC - 22 December 20:00 UTC.   Not sure if the update stuffed something up.

    Cheers,

    Hari

    Hi Hari,

MIME type is different to file extension.  For example .pdf file extension's MIME type is application/pdf

See the full list from below link.

    Hi Nadeeja,

Thanks for that.  Will give that a go.  I still have the problem of file uploads not coming through to CRM.

    Cheers,

    Hari

    Hi Hari,

I am facing the same issue. I have a custom entity tagged to a web form with Attach File checked with the web form step.

Though I attach a file I don't see them in the CRM. How did you come over this issue ?

    Hi Hari,

Did you eventually get a fix for this?

    Hi Hakim,

Yes I got that working correctly.  See the below screenshot for the correct configuration:
