How to update the budget register entry document template in D365FO?

There are 2 different document templates of budget register entries.

In the document template functionality, the template I could find only control the template in the point 1 Open in Excel, not the point 2 Budget account entries.
How can we update the default [2] template in FSCM?

    Hi STP,

You can refer to this data entity under Data management -> Data entities -> BudgetRegisterEntryEntity (considering the navigation screen Budgeting -> Budget register entries.

Mapped the screen you shared with the data entity fields.

Note: There could be custom fields (based on your business requirement), but this data entity BudgetRegisterEntryEntity can be extended.

Hope this helps. Happy to answer questions, if any.

@Navneeth Nagrajan, do you mean if it needs development effort?

Ideally, we add the fields required in the document template, and then the end user could use it directly. But, the current issue is that Budget account entries cannot be found on the list of the document template

    Hi STP,

The document template functionality Open in Excel or Export to Excel points to the set of Data Entities available under Data management. For Budget registry entries, there is a standard data entity available in standard D365 F&SCM called BudgetRegisterEntryEntity.
If End user is adding fields into the screen Budget registry entry through the personalise option then its not necessary the fields will be available in the data entity which looks like is the case.

Map the fields being added with the fields present in the BudgetRegistryEntryEntity and if the fields are matching then there i no development effort required. If there are system generated fields too like CreatedDateTime, ModifiedDateTime, CreatedBy or ModifiedBy etc then it should be added explicitly in the mapping details screen and this is a configuration.

Hope this helps. Happy to answer questions, if any.
