Hi all,

I'm getting an error when I'm trying to merge to accounts, the thing is that it throws a generic error:

Do you guys know if there's a way to get more information of the error or maybe a tool to debug or something?

Is hard to give solutions with this type of errors that doesn't tells much.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

    Crm user,

Seems like a logic error here.

Do you have any workflow or plugin on the Account update/set state event?

    Thanks

    Hi Crm user,

Error hints at custom code, disable all the plugins and workflows on the account entity and then try.

A common cause for this is where there are plugins that are registered on update of the customer field on orders/opportunity etc. When merging two records, the related records are also updated to point to the new master - even if the record is readonly. If your code tries to update record when it is closed/active etc. then you will get a message like this when merging.

You will need to add a check in your code before you update orders/quotes/opportunities/cases etc. to see if it is read only or not.

    Hope this helps

    Scott
