Hi,

I want all entry points with their description. It is required to create different new privileges. Is there any document that describes entry points and their description

    Hi Arshad,

    There is no document available. There are over 10000 entry points in Dynamics AX. What is your exact question?

    Thanks for your response. I want to create different roles for different users like PO creation, Invoice creation etc using existing entry points. If I know the description of existing entry points, it would be easier for me to create privilege and roles

    Hi Arhad,

    I think you can better define which entry point are required for certain roles; then create the privileges and duties. The security development tool is a great aid here. This will show the menu items from a main menu structure. In addition, you can record the entry points when opening forms to be able to see which ones are to be included.

    If I don't know the description of existing entry points, then I would not be able to define exact entry point for my role. Is there no other way then the Security Development Tool?

    I wonder why you want to have a list of over 10000 lines with a menu item name and what this menu item will open. Usually you will get a list with menu items (probably grouped per menu) which should be available within certain roles or responsible areas. In the last case the SDT will help.

    A list with over 10000 lines is really not helping you; it will even confuse you more.
