Financial reports - shared dimensions

(0) ShareShare

In AX the financial dimensions are shared (but controllable through link to data in the company or values Stopped).

What is normal/best practise for report design for these financial dimensions in financial reports/Management reporter, as e.g. some of these dimensions / or dimension values aren't applicable for the user for all legal entities - and I can't see how to limit these.

Thanks.

    Hi Daxer Persson,

There is a parameter setting that allows including or excluding those inactive accounts.

Have you tried making use of this parameter?

    Hi Ludwig

Thanks. But no, I've not tried the above parameter.

However I'm not trying to exclude accounts but specific dimensions/dimension values (that is other than main accounts).

    Hi,

So, you want to exclude let's say cost center 123 as this cost center is set inactive in AX. Is that right?

CC 123 is only inactive in 3 of 5 legal entities.

And want to exclude CC for LE 6-9 alltogether as CC is not used here at all.

    Hello Daxer Persson,

For this situation I can only think about making use of different kinds of dimension filters that comprise different combinations of your main accouts - legal entity - and cost centers. (Assuming that the legal entity is one of your financial dimensions used in AX).

    Hope this helps,

    Ludwig
