Hey Ruth,
You did not state what version of Dynamics GP you where on, but I just had the problem myself on Dynamics GP 2010 R2 and this KB 912965, while written for GP 8.x, 9.x, and 10.x solved my problem.

John, a quick one; could u pls direct me to where i can find some sort of summary or catalogue of KB articles ie if such exists.

If a cataloque of the KB articles exists somewhere I am unaware of it. :(
I find thisforum, along with following the various blogs are the best source of info.

On CustomerSource under support select Knowledge base. In the search scope select Knowledge base, enter in GP 2010 R2 as a search term and that should pull back all of the KB articles for GP 2010 R2.
