Product Receipt Automation

Hi All,

Happy New Year! I had a question in regards to automatically receiving products for Purchase Orders. We are using Purchase Orders for everything so I was hoping that it would be possible to set up automatic receiving. For things such as rent, we would like to have these automatically post the product receipt without having to manually select each individual PO. Is this possible? Can we achieve this by using batch jobs? Any other ideas?

We are using AX 2012 R2 RTM. Thanks in advance for the help!

Cheers,
Dave

what is the necessity for posting a product receipt for a service items like Rent?

You can straight away invoice them. You need to generate a product receipt wherever there is actual product receipt

You can utilize the batch job of posting product receipt, as long as you set up the query for your specific items correctly.

Thanks for your answer Andrew. Can you provide some guidance as to how this should be configured? I am unfamiliar with configuring batch jobs. Thanks again!

You can go to "Procurement and sourcing->Periodic->Purchase orders->Product receipt". In that posting form, use button 'select' to find the PO/PO lines you need to receive. And then, use button 'Batch' to set up the batch job to execute the receving process automatically.

If you have never used batch job, you'd better read through this in prior technet.microsoft.com/.../gg243235.aspx

You'll need to do some configurations to enable batch job.
