Item Inquiry

Posted on by 1,210
Hello, We have a PO which is currently in-transit to the site. In Item Commitment Inquiry, I can see that order as Intransit status.

However, "On Order" column in Item Inquiry is 0.

Is there any way to reflect the amount to “On Order”?

Thank you,

    Hello Richard, Ian,

We set up a public warehouse as a site. Our Afloat status means Supplier Port to US, In-Transit status means along the way from Pier to a warehouse. It is not a customer site or Drop ship item.

In Item Commitment Inquiry, there are some status such as “On Order”, “Instructed”, “Afloat”, and “In Transit”. Which quantity is related to in Item Inquiry “On Order” Quantities?

One item matches “On Order”, other item matches “Afloat”. The other case, even though every column has some quantities, Item Inquiry “On Order” shows “0”.

    Could you advise me please?

    Best regards,

Are you saying that you have set up a site in GP that in reality is the customers site? and for some internal processing reason, you transfer stock to this site to simulate shipping to the customer? Or are we talking about Drop Ship items?

No that is not the same thing.  In-Transit, as Leslie correctly stated, should ONLY be used to transfer your goods from one of your warehouses to another of your warehouses.  If you have purchased items from a vendor and they are being shipped to you, you should have an outstanding PO for the items.  Do not receive the PO until the items actually arrive at your site even if the terms are FOB Shipper.

    Hello L Vail,

Thank you so much for replying me! Actually, this is not a transfer to another site. The item we oredered to the vendor which is currently in-transit to the Site. Is it same thing?

    Best regards,

    Re: Item Inquiry

Since the item isn't really on order with the vendor, I do not think it will show up in the 'On Order' line of the Item Inquiry. The in-transit transfer prevents the item from being sold while it is in-transit to another site.
