GP2013 R2 Issue with large journal entries - phantom "Distribution account missing" warning messages preventing posting.

We used two different methods to import a couple of large journal entries.  1. We used the copy paste method which has worked great for smaller journal entries.  The two we used that method on were 732 lines and 3,448 lines.  Both of these looked fine in GP transaction entry - the totals were correct, but when we went to post they immediately went to batch recovery.  The edit list shows many lines that say "Distribution account is missing".  There are no blank lines in the data we see if we scroll down and look at each line of the JE and the total number of entries is correct.  The smaller of the two we deleted and imported it using Integration Manager and got not errors during the process.  Again the batch appears fine, totals correctly, lines all have data, but this message again pops up within the edit list and the batch goes into batch recovery immediately.

We have run checklinks on the Transaction work file, then reconcile on the year and the batches and nothing will fix this.

Have you seen the accounts on the edit list that the system thinks are missing?  Often I find looking at the edit tells me more than nothing.

It is interesting that you did not get a message at the time of importing via IM  - it tests the logic of the account and should kick a message that the account is not valid at that point.

Another thing just crossed my mind - are you posting to Allocation Accounts?  If so, be sure to check them as well.

Good to hear that the C&C feature works for transactions of this size.

Found the issue - some of the accounts were allocation accounts that were not setup.
