Send email related to an opportunity or opportunity product in a workflow

Theire is what is going on:

Our Marketing director whant me to create some workflow that will wait until a certain time after the creation of an opportunity thant send an email base on a Template. The template must look like this:

[Letter header (supose to be an image)]

Hello dear [The name of the customer],

Are you still interest in our [name of the product].

Salutation

[Name of the sales man]

 

As you see, the email must containt the information of at leat 3 entity (Cusotmer, OpportunityProduct and Owner). There my issue: I can't create an email that provide all those informations.

I tried to make the workflow on the opportunity, but the related OpportunityProduct are not available.

The only way it could work it's to create the workflow on the OpportunityProduct. If I take this option a probleme happend: my customer will recived 1 email per product! I don't kwon for you be if the user ask for five product place in 1 opportunity and he receved 5 email it became spam.

 In resum: I wold like to create a workflow on a opportunity witch send email a spécifictime. This email must containt all the product of the opportunity, the contact informations and the sales man informations.

Is there a way to do this ?

    I think this is possible with a custom workflow activity. I dont think this is possible with OOB workflows.

    Do you know if, in an internet facing deployement enviroment, it possible to register a workflow for only an organisation or if the workflow must public at all the installs organisations ?

    Unfortunately, it's not possible to include the information about Opportunity Products in an email template because CRM wouldn't know which of the N Opportunity Products was being referred to in the email. For example, if the opportunity had 5 opportunity products related to it, should the email template say:

    "Are you still interested in our Product A?" or should it say "Are you still interested in our Product A, Product B, Product C, Product D, Product E?" Yuk!

    How about this: if you opportunity has a single product that is the main product for the opportunity, copy the name of this product onto the opportunity record (either a custom or standard field using workflow or a plugin, or by typing it), and then reference this field in your email template.

    Nice idea. It's a good work around. I'll see what does my marketing manager exactly want (THE question lol) and how we could use this work around in our case.
