Scrap

I have a question on the best way for my company to look at scrap:

For example:  we run a job for 100 pc, it has 4 operations, each part is run on 2 machines, but we have 6-8 machines running at one time.

I would like to be able to look at the operations in order to see which operations/machines are producing scrap.  I also would like to be able to disposition the scrap i.e. Incorrect Material, Color not correct, stracthes, etc… in order to run a monthly report.

Any suggestions?

    RE: Scrap

If you want the level of control you are looking for, WilloWare has a Scrap Reporting feature, which is part of their Manufacturing PowerPack:

Other features included in the Manufacturing PowerPack, which I find most useful are:

Item Copy (deep, flexible copying of existing items)

    Quick Disassembly

    Power ATP

    Vendor Pricing

There are a lot of features, and you may find others more useful, but it is definitely the best approach to the problem you reported.

Do you do Data Collection?   There is a pieces rejected field there to capture.   Otherwise, Extender would be the best way to capture this data.   I have used this idea for a FG or the last machine where the items could become seconds or written off.  The Extender window was associated with the MO Receipt entry window with the reason code and the qty was entered.   This was reported and then a transfer done to a 'Reject' site to determine if it needed rework or just disposed of.
