We can sell gift cards just fine, but when trying to redeem and check balance HQ failed error pops us. We checked the configurations and we can check stores in that store
Any suggestions. Double checked all the ports needed were open in the firewall as well

Thank you Ed for your response. It was a combination of an incorrect entry in the Client configuration settings AND permissions over a VPN Network.
Did you configure the HQ Client settings under within SO Admin -> Configuration.
This is often overlooked.
I am also seeing the same error "unable to connect to HQ" when checking global voucher balance (Ctrl+Shift+F3). Both HQ Client and Voucher Client are able to contact the database. This error only happens when verifying voucher or checking balance. Anyone experience this or have a resolution?
Again - verified settings in SO Admin and HQ Client & Voucher client; verified ports are open in firewall; followed all recommendations in article on PartnerSource knowledgebase for configuring SQL.
They are global vouchers.
Are the gift cards global vouchers or local vouchers.
