Hello,
The classic view of the admin section of Dynamics is now defaulting to Powerapps (As designed) When I go to edit an existing form that has been created in Dynamics through this new UI the window opens but the form never loads and looks like below:
It just hangs on the loading screen. If I switch back to classic there are no issues and the form loads fine and is ready to edit as needed. Is this a known issue when transitioning to powerapps or in general? Are there anyways to fix/resolve this? The concern I have is that as everything is moved to powerapps if we are unable to edit existing forms, that would be a problem.
Thank you for any help.
There are no plans as of today but that can always change quickly. I would monitor the following sites in regards to the roadmap for Dynamics. docs.microsoft.com/.../release-schedule
Ok, thank you. So the classic view will not be going anywhere? Or is there a plan to remove it at some point?
The classic view for "Settings" will still be present even when the official cutover to UCI occurs in Oct.
So, if I have been reading correctly, the classic view is going away in October of 2020, correct? If there is no way to add javascript though powerapps to the forms will the forms work as intended? This would also mean we would not be able to edit them as we have in the past and they would need to possibly be remade to fit the new format in powerapps? Just making sure I understand correctly.
Hi Joel, thanks for reaching out on the Dynamics Communities. Unfortunately, you are correct that currently to add/customize Java scripts to form the classic interface is needed.
There are ideas in the works with getting more functionality within the PowerApps form designer but not ETA. You can view and post suggestions for our Power Apps team here powerusers.microsoft.com/.../PowerAppsIdeas.
Hi Hao,
We had tried this before, and it did not work, but I was able to get it to Load in IE. The problem is that the form still looks..different than how it used to in Dynamics. In Dynamics we had one long page with custom, with multiple tabs based on required information. We used a custom javascript to hide different tabs depending on the type/subtype selected. In powerapps the form looks how it would if I was in Dynamics and no javascript had been added. Is this expected? Is there a way to get it to look more like the classic view in powerapps? Do we have to go somewhere else within powerapps to adds the java to hide the fields?
Hi joelmargi,
First please clear the browser cache and try another browser.
Do all the forms fail to load successfully in Powerapps?
