Import/Export label file

Hi everyone,

I did one label with "en-us" and "it" languages. After export and import in other environment I can see only in "en-us". "En-us" is my first language of the label. In first environment(Ax) from where I export , I saved , closed and started Ax again , open the label editor and "it" was still there. But in second environment is empty , I can see only in "en-us".

Thank you!

Did you export/import both label files - en-us and it? They are two separate files.

In the label editor, please check that you have selected language "it" on the Setup tab page. Otherwise you won't see italian labels. Did you try to test the label, or only tried to see it in the label editor?

If the label is really not working, try the following in the target environment:

    1) Shut down AOS

    2) Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\MicrosoftDynamicsAX\bin\Application\Appl\Standard

    3) Remove all .alc and .ali files (label cache and label index)

    4) Start the AOS again

    Does this help?

Yes I have selected language "it" in label editor. I tested the label on test environment and worked correctly. I also saw these points in another post , but I can't find this way.(point 2). I have not restarted the AOS.

You can find the AOS directory on the AOS server(s). It can be on other drive than C, depending of the installation. And the folder "MicrosoftDynamicsAX" can have a different name, if the instance was not installed with the default name.

You should always restart all AOS instances after importing code or labels to the environment.

I restart now the AOS , but nothing happened.

Did you also delete the .alc and .ali files?

    Yes and nothing happened.

So the label is working in the UI but not in the label editor.

At least this is how I interpret your description - you say it works in the test environment. I assume that's the target environment where you imported the labels. Is this correct?

One more thing to try would be to delete the client cache files: community.dynamics.com/.../how-to-delete-auc-files

I see you created labels in the label editor. The way you exported them is not specified but i'll assume XPO as it is not working :)

Go to the AOT node "Label Files" and open the label file where you added the labels. Then

open the "Languages" node. Is "it" there as a language? If it is not, then this is your problem and you first will need to create this label file here.

One way to do this is to export an existing language (right click, export to label file). It will create a file named "axXXXen-us.ald" for example. rename the file and change the language part to "it". Then right-click on the "Label Files" node in the AOT and select "create from file". Select the renamed .ald file. This will overwrite the "it" labels and give a message that the file was imported.

Translate label as you did before in the label editor.

Export the label file for "it" (as done before) and import that into your second environment. The labels should now be there.
