Hi:
For Canadian users, does Business Central have the capability to generate the TDF512 (EDI, 512-byte) file format for A/P EFT?
Attached is a sample of such a file format.
Thank you!
John
Hi John,
We currently use an EDI format with RBC that was custom built in NAV 2013, and during our move from NAV to BC we learned that the out-of-the-box options for EFT file formats are limited and our partner did not have anyone who could port our EDI code from NAV to a Data Exchange Definition in BC. We were also surprised to learn that BC does not support EFT payments in foreign currencies either, because although we are based in Canada we deal with a lot of vendors in the US and our current EDI setup supports sending USD to both Canadian and US-based banks.
If you have the option of switching to the ACH format then it may be worth looking at this EFT extension from OpenDoor Technologies here. This is the route we ended up taking and although there is an additional cost involved, the product does exactly what we need for payments in CAD and USD, they support file formats for all the major Canadian banks, and their customer support has been excellent so far.
