Journal Posting Restrictions

Hi all, I have been testing the posting restriction function in Journal names but don't seem to be able to get it to work. Anyone have actually used this function?

My understanding is by selecting the user in posting restriction, only this user will be able to post this journal. but, after setting the posting restriction , say to user A, I've logged in as User B, and still able to post that particular journal, with the selected Journal Name.

Pls correct me if I'm mistaken

Regards

Daniel

    Hello Daniel,

How did you setup the posting restrictions in your Journal? Can you provide some additional information on that?

any user which is added to that list, means that user or that userGroup is under observation. That user or UserGroup is having restriction to post Journal, unless he/she is creator of that specific journal.

if the user which is added under that Observation List(Posting Restrictions), is the creator of journal he/she can post journal. Else they will get error like below on posting

"For journal name 'SomeJournalName', you can post only journals that you create. A user without posting restrictions must post this journal."

    Hi Sohaib/Ludwig

Had to try this out by myself on test to finally get the logic sinked in.

Which was totally different from what I assumed the logic to be. I had originally thought that user set in posting restrictions was the only person allowed to post the journal which he created.

Imagine how confused I was, when other user ID was able to post the restricted ID person's journal.

    Thanks and cheers

    Daniel

No. It was opposite of what you assumed earlier.

the users in that list means 'Under Observation and restriction'
