Sales Tax On Sales Order

Posted on by 5

Is there a way that when we setup a delivery that has a different tax area code other than the store and other than what is on the customer card that BC can change it automatically so the counter sales employees do not have to? Can it be done with ZIP CODE tied to the tax area code?

Hi, Yes, because this is not an out-of-the-box feature, it needs to be customized.

And as Kim mentioned, you can find some solutions in AppSource. But it may not exactly meet your needs.

You might also look at a sales tax add-on to BC.

That's what I am wanting to do. It makes the most sense to me. Would our partner just need to make the customization?

Hi, This seems to require a small customization.

You can add the tax area code to the ZIP CODE, and then automatically fill in the tax area code corresponding to the ZIP CODE when the ZIP CODE is validated.

Just an idea, hope this helps.

    Thanks.

We use custom address on the ship-to as each of our customers have address that change everyday. We never deliver to the same place. Sometimes these addresses are in different tax counties and we are running into our sales department not always knowing what tax area to change it to.

Wouldn't the delivery be the ship-to on the sales order?

Ship-tos have their own tax area code....
