Activities disappearing from social pane

Hey everyone,

I'm having an issue in a Dynamics CRM 2013 On Premise. When I go to this one specific account and I create a task, either the long way (going to activities and creating a task), or the short way (creating one from the Social Pane) the activity won't appear in the Social Pane, but it still exists and can be found by going to the Activities page.

Thoughts? Thanks

It happens in every browser? What`s the IE version you use?

Every browser. At least, Chrome and IE 11

Is 'Regarding' being set to = the Account?  It sounds as if the answer is no - but can you check?

(There are no other ways to connect a Task to the account, as there are no Activity Parties that hold this data on the record.)

If so the question is why is 'Regarding' not setting for that Account.  Is it owned by a different business unit?  Is there a security permission issue?

Yes, the regarding is being set = to the account.

There is only one account experiencing this issue. The other accounts are operating normally.

    OK - definitely weird.

And you don't have 2 Accounts with the same name (and it's showing up on the other one instead) or anything like that?  Not that it should - as it should be doing a lookup to the GUID of the Account you're looking at...

It's not just because you're completing the task and then looking at a list of active records rather than inactive ones.  (Have just checked the Social Pane and it should show completed ones as well so that can't be the answer - unless you're filtering on just In Progress or Overdue items.)

Does it show in an associated sub grid of activities on the Account record (you could put a grid onto the form view to see)?  This view isn't editable, so it can't have been altered - and I suspect is the basis for what is being presented in the Social Pane.  I'm now wondering if any of the other activity views (that might be being used by the Social Pane?) have been altered and provide some reason why tasks aren't showing for that record.

And the account is owned by someone in the same business unit/the current user?  Have you any workflows that reassign tasks to other users/business units?

Hey guys, I appreciate your help on this one.

We ended up creating a new account and merging this specific account into it, creating a new record in the DB; Subsequently, tasks began appearing in the social pane as expected. It's my thought that this had a bad record in the Database that was causing issues, so by creating a new account resolved this issue.
