Where are the start and due dates?!

In the Timeline you can create Tasks. But in the form available there is no start date and no due date.

The due date I can see in top right corner, the header, but I cannot edit there. Screenshot below is opened from a Case record.

In edit mode I cannot find a way to get to the Tasks form and add the dates. Obviously I had expected them to be there from the beginning... a task without dates is not very useful.

It is probably something I  don't get here, please let me know your ideas!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Please click the arrow next to the owner field to set the due date.
As for the start and end date you can add these two fields in the form designer.

Thanks a lot for your answer! The first part surely answers my question about how to deal with the due date OOTB. Right under my nose... :-)

As for the adding of fields to the task form itself I am still curious. What steps lead up to the task form you show in your reply? I notice that you are editing the table column(s), but how do I reach the corresponding form?

I have just found my way to an edit mode for tasks, but useful only for cosmetical/layout amendments. This is where I end up:

    Hi,

    The procedure is as follows.
    1. Access the Task Form through the App Designer.
    2. Add the Actual Start and Actual End fields to the Form, then click Save and Publish.

    3. Go to Task Form's Quick Create Form.

    4. Add the Actual Start and Actual End fields to the Form, then click Save and Publish.

When creating a Task on a Timeline, the Task's Quick Create Form is used. The Actual Start and Actual End fields can be filled in.

Open the main Task form created in the previous step and display the values of the fields just filled in.

Thanks a lot. I didn't know how to click my way all into a specific activity form, now I do! Very useful indeed.
