Hi Team,

I recently saw this thread to enable Odata API service for NAV: https://community.dynamics.com/nav/b/andreysnavblog/archive/2018/01/25/how-to-obtain-data-from-nav-standard-apis

I am wondering how and where can I enable Odata API service for Dynamics 365?

Many thanks!

Leon

    Enable access to the APIs

    1. Open Dynamics 365 Business Central Administration tool.
    2. Expand the OData Services tab, and select the Enable OData Services checkbox first, then select the Enable API Services checkbox.
    3. Check that the values for the OData Base URL and Port are entered correctly.
When exposing a web service, you must open the port for other consumers of your web service to access it. You can have your system administrator add the port through Windows Firewall on the computer running Dynamics 365 Business Central server. The default port for ODdata web services is 7048.
    4. In Dynamics 365 Business Central, search for API Setup and then choose the related link.
    5. On the API Setup page, choose the Integrate APIs button.
This will start a process of populating all the integration tables with records for all APIs. The process can take several minutes.

    Hi,

    Thanks for you reply!

Where can I find the Dynamics 365 Business Central Administration tool you were referring to?

    Thanks again!

you can search "Business Central Administration" in your program (on premise)

for SaaS by default it's always enabled.

    Hi,

I couldn't find the Business Central Administration in our Dynmaics 365 Business central. We are not using the on-premise edition.

Should I get it somewhere else?

    Many thanks!

Is there a way to enable this on a docker sandbox via the PowerShell vs trying to figure out a way to get the Admin Tool ?

You can enable it using set-navserverconfiguration command

    docs.microsoft.com/.../set-navserverconfiguration

    docs.microsoft.com/.../configure-server-instance

    Hi,

I am using the latest cloud version of dynamics 365 business central - I tried accessing oData with this url - https://<tenantId>.financials.dynamics.com: 7048/MS/ODataV4/ but got an error  -"could not get any response"

What is the correct url to use and is there any guide I could refer for making a custom API page for cloud version?

This works on the sandbox but not sure for prod, but it may be helpful:

    tenant.financials.dynamics.com:7048/.../Company

    Hi

Is there something I need to configure for OData to work in Dynamic 365 business central cloud? I still get the error "could not get any response" with this also - tenant.financials.dynamics.com:7048/.../Company
