Workflow is not triggered for the records created by Quick Create form.

Posted on by 90

Hi,

I have created a workflow to update the field which will execute on Create of the contact record. This workflow will execute when I create a record from the main form. However, it won't execute for the contacts records created by Contact Quick Create form.

How can I enable the workflow so that it will execute for the records created by Quick Create form?

    Hi Vinit,

    My last answer is inaccurate.

I mean, the main form may have some fields with default values, for example, the main form has A field whose default value is "1", but the quick create form does not have these default values, that is, A field is empty. At the same time, (A field equals "1") participates in the workflow condition, which will cause the quick create form not to execute the workflow.

I assume the workflow should trigger and execute on create of record either through main form or quick create form. Is my understanding correct?

    Yes, you are right.

    Thanks for your response Hao.

The workflow triggers on-create of record.

I also have checked the fields in Quick Create form.. Those are the normal fields which i have used in the main form. Though the workflow in not executing.

I assume the workflow should trigger and execute on create of record either through main form or quick create form. Is my understanding correct?

    Hi Vinit,

To be sure, the execution of the workflow does not distinguish the types of forms, quick create form also executes workflow.

Therefore, I would recommend you check whether there are some field differences between the main form and the quick create form that will affect the workflow execution.

For example, the main form has an A field, and the quick create form does not have it. The A field participates in the execution conditions of the workflow, so the quick create form will not execute the workflow.
