Appointment "Types" in CRM

Hello CRM experts,

I need to set up different "Appointment Types" in Dynamics CRM 2011, that reflect if a sales rep is doing a product demo, and if a presales resource was included in the meeting or not. I have a few options rolling around in my head. But I was hoping you guys could share your input thinking in terms of the goal being to create a dashboard for the sales manager to see how many appointments in a given quarter/ year....per sales rep of course...are for demo's that either include a presales rep.....or not. Thanks!

    Hi Michael,

    What do you thinking about adding an attribute for 'Appointment Type' and a connection role for 'Presales Resource'.  You'd then be able to create a view for appointments of a particular type and that included a connection of the desired role.  Additionally, this approach would address the issue of only looking at the appointment participants and evaluating their job title, company role, ..., as those values may change over time.

    How do I add an attribute for appointment type? And if I add these values to the option set, where would the user select the value? (Keep in mind, most of my users use the Outlook format for Appointments). Thanks!
