Multiple Trials of Dynamics 365 Finance

Hi,

I have a trial version of Dynamics 365 Finance.  I have set it up to give a demo, however I received the notification that it will expire on the day of the demo.

I have 2 questions:

a) how do I create another trial version (the button to create a new trial simply redirects me to my existing installation so I can't make a new one)

b) is there a quick/easy way to export my basic configuration (things like customer groups, item groups, tax, posting profiles and parameters) other than making my own data package?

Thanks,

Norbert

I'll mark it as verified answer because its the only way I can think of doing it.

In my current circumstances I won't use that approach because the customer hasn't yet bought a licence so they don't have an lcs where I can deploy cloud based or download the vhd, but if that were the case, this would be the approach I'd use.

    Hi Norbert,

I would suggest installing VHD on personal server or deploy cloud based environment on LCS to continue enjoying the system.

    Thanks,

RE: Multiple Trials of Dynamics 365 Finance

Now this raises more questions :)

Firstly, I will point out that the article you shared is about renewal when you get the 2 day notice - I have already done this twice during my 15 trial period (it seems that they went down from 30 days).  I do not have the option to renew again, so I do have to do something

The curious bit is the following.  The article you mentioned has a link too activate partner features on a tenant.  It is this one here: go.microsoft.com/.../

I clicked on it an filled in the fields.  I thought it could provision a new trial, instead, after a few minutes I got an email from Microsoft saying that 'Your Dynamics 365 For Finance and Operations Preview trial is ready to use'.

The link, instead of to a trial version, took me to the office 365 admin page where it showed that I now have a licence of Finance and Operations Preview that is valid for 550 days.  I tried to assign it to myself but it said it was assigned organization wide.

There is no url to access this instance so I am not sure what it did.  I did notice (but it could have been coincidential), that my lcs now has a few more options when I try to create a  new project - so maybe it made me an Ax partner?

Anyway - my original question (which is quite urgent) still rests, but I am curious what this did as well.

Hi Nobert, I haven't tried it but please check this thread, probably you can extend the trial environment
