Missing Purpose on Contacts in D365 FO

Hi. We would like to add the role/purpose on contacts in Customers.

in AX you can see Roles

It's only visible in employee self service. You will have to make a customization to the "LogisticsContactInfoGrid" form part for it to show in other forms.

Just out of curiosity, are you sure it's a standard field in AX2012? This is what my AX2012 R3 CU12 box looks like.

Hi,

For adding purposes, you need to perform the following setups:

1. Under Organization Administration -> Global Address Book -> Address and contact information purpose section, you can add a new purpose and decide if the purpose should be included both in postal addresses or contact information section.

2. From a security role and privilege side you need to grant access to either of the roles highlighted and the below mentioned duties and privileges to the user setting up purposes related to contacts.

I think you might have replied to the wrong question?

It’s about adding the column roles to a grid. That column is not available on the grid in F&O out of the box.
