Simply speaking it will allocate the cost for the last purchased  unit that is avalible in your inventory.
You can read more about the design details here.

    Date  Qty Price
    1 november 2023 1 10,00
    2 november 2023 1 15,00
    3 november 2023 1 17,00

So if you have these inventory movement and you sell them on 3 different sales ordre.
The first order will have a cost of 17, the secound a cost of 15 and the 3de one a cost of 10.

    Hope this helps.

Please follow up with more detailed questions if you  have any.
