For some reason GP10 running on server 2008 is slow in the mornings between 7 and 8. Any idea why? We've checked to see if there are any tasks or SQL jobs running but there are none. Today accounting was posting some transactions at the time and it was moving very slow. At 8am he called and said that it started to move very fast.

Could be Home Page refresh. is this happening on all client machines?

I would agree. Someone could be running IV HITB or PO Received/Not Invoice or some other heavy I/O dependent report. There could an automtated report or SQL query running or some integration. You can click on Task Manager and then Performance plus you could run SQL Profiler to see if it is something occuring inside SQL or some other heavy disk access process.

This could be a number of things. Either you are having network congestion, you have integrations running through SSIS which may not be seen through SQL Agent, someone decided to run a GL transaction report on the last 5 years :). You cannot always blame SQL, so check network traffic first. After that I would run SQL activity monitor and watch who is hogging all the memory. Depending on your setup it could be so many different things though, it is not something someone can answer without having a look around.
