Will Kerberos work with GP 2015 web client

All,

Client is asking if

Would it be possible to enable Kerberos to simplify the login for our Dynamics GP website?

I assume he means logging into the web client and then into gp from the web client as all the users are actually gp users not web only.

I think as well we would have to change MR over Kerberos as well per the article in the install document

Thank you,

    Yes Dan,

This is right... Read on the following blog post from the Dynamics Dev & support team :

I don't remember seeing this option in the instructions.  You are saying if I have a GP user Dan and that users AD is Domain\DanBigelow, I should add Domain\DanBigelow to the GP user security - like a web only user?  - thanks for the help

    Hi Dan,

Not sure if Kerberos will be of any help in the GP Web Client scenario... as you need to install SSL certificate anyway to have your GP web client browser correctly identified towards the IIS server...

The point to make the users work correctly with the web client is to add the AD user ID in the GP user security identification, so GP can make the 'translation' for the GP User ID and doesn't require the user to login twice (once for the AD authentication and once for GP)... As such this is already a great step forward to unified SSO for GP.

Still, you need to authenticate at least once in the browser towards the GP web server, but once done, no other login required.
