Add new dimension in AX 2009

Hi,

I want to add new dimension in ax 2009, as i know system allow only 3 dimension in 2009. by default system has given 3 dimensions like (Department,cost center,purpose).

My requirement is i want to add project dimension in ax 2009. 

1. If i change the Existing Dimension -Purpose name as Project, will system will accept.

2. i want to select the project in Project dimension while posting journal voucher transactions.

3. If i take report, is project dimensions will show are not (after the above setup has done).?

Kindly take the same on priority and suggest me on the same.

    Hi RaghavR,

    1) You can rename the existing dimension purpose. Before doing that please ensure that this financial dimension has not been used in the past and will not be needed in the future.

    2) This should already be possible. If you record a transaction and see the purpose financial dimension, you will later on see the same financial dimension but with a different label (name)

    3) That's a more difficult question because you did not mention the report need. Every report that already includes the financial dimension 'purpose' will show your project financial dimension in the future. However, there are a several feports that do not include a financial dimension. If you want to add your purpose / project financial dimension to one of those, you have to modify the report.
