Management Reporter URL switching to HTTPS

Hello,

I have an issue where the reports ran through the Report Designer are being sent to an invalid HTTPS address when using Chrome as the default browser.

I have the connection configured as: http://servername:4712/ , but when I pull the report up it goes to https://servername.restofaddress.com:4712/ . This causes an SSL protocol error and the report will not load.

If I manually correct the address, it will run fine. If I set my default browser to Edge, the report will run at the correct address.

What could be causing this? It has popped up for a user who has been running the reports in Chrome without issue previously.

That's indeed a strange behavior.. I haven't seen that happen with any browser so far (to open in HTTPS).. but basically my question would be : why do you open the reports in a web browser and not the MR Viewer by default ? this can be changed in the MR Designer options after the report is generated..

PS: try setting Edge as the default browser..

If it only happens with Chrome, it sounds like it is a setting within that. I did a quick search on "how do I stop Chrome from redirecting to HTTPS" and found a number of suggestions on this. It could be a policy that was put in place by your admin or it could be a setting within Chrome that needs to be adjusted.
