Subgrid '+' Button in Dynamics crm 2015

Hi All,

I have a sub grid, when i click on + button it is opening a new record itself and i am not getting a value of parent in the new sub grid record.

I do not want to open a new record, instead when i click on '+' button i want to open a new window (instead of opening in existing window) and the value of parent has to be populated in the new record created from sub grid.

I have opened Ribbon Workbench, i am confused as to what to be done here.

Need assistance on this as to how to achieve this ?

Hello Rahul;

There's a few things at play here. First to make a field auto populate that's done through the field mapping on the relationships. You can set that up yourself by going through your solution opening your entity and finding the relationship n:1 that your displaying in the subgrid. Once you open it go to the field mappings and ensure you have the parent field set to be the guid of the record your opening from.

Secondly your looking for a new window to appear instead of the quick create form i'm guessing. If this is the case you could disable the quick create form for the entity that your creating. This would force it to open a full new entity form.

In the subgrid entity make parent entity lookup field as required.

Eg:

In an account form you have contact subgrid, You have to make parentaccountid lookup field as required in contact entity.
