Error connecting Data Export to Key Vault (not tagged with expected OrgId)

Posted on by 15

Hey guys,

I am trying to connect a sandbox Dynamics DB to Azure SQL DB, using the Data export tool. I keep running into the error "KeyVault Url is not tagged with expected OrganizationId."

I am a system admin in dynamics, I have all the permissions correctly set up for export. I have tagged the secret with the tenantId and organizationId, set up the correct policies in the vault.

I am not sure what else to do... Please help!

    Scott I believe there are other issues that can also cause this. After 14 frustrating I am almost at the point of giving up. My OrgID and Tenant tags are formed correctly and I Have run the script. THis still doesn't work for me.

    Connection String:

    Data Source=xxxxx.database.windows.net,1433;Initial Catalog=OODW1;Persist Security Info=False;User ID=vvvvv_va;Password=xxxxxx_3030;MultipleActiveResultSets=False;Encrypt=True;TrustServerCertificate=False;Connection Timeout=30;

    Hey Scott,

    Thanks yes I ended up using the powershell script and worked because i was getting really frustrated.  Wish I found your video earlier.

    Hi,

    The issue is that your tags are not formatted correctly - it should be the orgID as the name and the tenant Id as the value.

    I suggest you use the powershell script that is displayed when you click on the little blue i to right of the the Key Valut URL label.

    You need to edit the values in the powershell script and then run.

    I created a video about this -https://youtu.be/txms2Yvn6Vc

    Hope this helps
