Can I test Pro, Basic, and Essential license levels?

When we switched to Online 2013 and from LoginLive to 365 logins, we were in the middle of a subscription renewal cycle and stayed at our current price for all professional licenses.  My question is how can I test the other licenses in preparation of the price increase?  When in 365 admin/users, there's an option to purchase more licenses, but I don't see any options other than professional.  There's also no option to switch existing licenses from one to the other.

    Hi,

The license types are on a trust basis so there is nothing to 'test' as such since there will be no difference in Dynamics CRM functionality. To add the different licenses you'll need to navigate to Billing->Subscriptions->New Subscription and select either 'Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Essential' or 'Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Basic'

    Hope this helps,

    Scott

Thank you Scott.  What if I'm also looking to switch existing licenses?

    You can do that too.

The best thing to do is send a request thought Office 365 that you want to switch existing licenses.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM  will then call you to do the switch. You really don't have to do anything after that.

Just make sure you cancel the Professional User and add the same amount of Basic User.

The tech guys will know what user are being replaced, so the users will still have their log-in and passwords.

I just did this a few months ago.

    Hope this helps

There is no option to switch licenses - you will need to cancel existing subscriptions and add new ones.

We use user owned records.  How will that work with cancelling?  I'm hoping that all IDs, logins, and record assignments can stay.

Yes all info User will stay the same. If your using CRM online the best thing is to make a Service Request from Office 365. They will help you do this.

Like I said I just got done doing this a few months ago.
