Hi All. One of our clients uses direct mail as a key marketing channel (as well as email). We want to propose D365 Marketing for them. They use a mail house for their mailshots - so the need is to produce a file (CSV or similar) that can be sent to the mail house to use in the print run.
Has anyone used D365 Marketing for this? If so, how did you do it? Any help gratefully received.
There's no direct mail activity in D365 for marketing currently.
If it's just pulling together a list of people then a standard marketing list might be an option. You can then just export those people. It doesn't really tie in that well to D365 for marketing though.
However, if you're looking at something more automated, D365 for marketing customer journeys can create things like tasks as part of journeys. Perhaps that linked with flow might give you some kind of solution.
Hi Richard@BarheadAU,
The first thing you will want to look at is the creation of the CSV files. Dynamically generating the CSV files with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is a good option, and you can find information on this here.
Next, you are going to want to take the CSV file and send it to the mail house. You can do this by sending a standard email with a CSV file attachment to the mail house. I am not sure where Dynamics 365 for Marketing fits in here but if you need to create a marketing email you can do so by following this guide.
