Hey all,

I'm struck at one point . I have valid Power BI premium license (PPU) . If I try to link my tables in the power apps to Fabric it is showing like the below image.

Any solution is appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Kishor

    Hi,
Even if you have a Power BI Premium Per User (PPU) license, Dataverse direct linking to Microsoft Fabric requires access to Power BI Premium capacity (P-SKU) — not just PPU.

The error message in your screenshot confirms this:
"You need a Power BI premium license to continue."
    To resolve this:
    • Ensure your workspace is hosted on a Premium capacity (not a PPU workspace).
    • If you're using PPU, you can try publishing to a Premium capacity-backed workspace, if your org has one.
    • If not, you’ll need to set up a Power BI Premium capacity (P1 or higher) via the Microsoft 365 admin portal.
    Hope this helps,
    Zain

    Hi Kishor,

Just to clarify — Power BI Premium Per User (PPU) licenses do not support all Microsoft Fabric features. For full functionality, especially features like linking Power Apps (Dataverse) tables to Fabric, you’ll need a dedicated Fabric capacity.

Why This Matters for Power Apps Integration:

When you're linking Power Apps tables to Fabric, you're essentially tapping into Fabric-native services like OneLake, Lakehouse, or Data Warehouse. These services require a Fabric capacity, and PPU doesn't include access to them.

So even with a valid PPU license, the platform will still prompt you to either:

    • Upgrade to a workspace backed by Fabric capacity, or

    • Start a Fabric trial to get temporary access.

    Hope this helps,
    Saalim

Have You been able to resolve it?

I am Fabric Capacity Administrator (with all privileges like, scaling/pausing, creating workspaces, lakehouses etc).
I am an admin also of an environment in Dataverse.

Dataverse region is Europe (there is no such Azure Region though! but multiple with Europe)

Capacity region is France Central. Though I think this is irrelevant for the issue.
Also this requirement seems to be partially lifted by: Troubleshooting common issues with link to Fabric with Microsoft Dataverse - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn - first bullet in the table:

From prerequisites page it looks like I need EITHER Power BI Premium OR Fabric Capacity (Configure your environment and link to Microsoft Fabric - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn)

    What can be the issue?
