Business Process Error

Posted on by 932

Hi All,'

I am getting below error when I am going to re-activate the case record.

Please suggest how to resolve this problem.

"Since case is resolved and read-only, only these attributes are updatable : "ownerid", "owneridyominame", "owneridtype", "owninguser", "statecode", "statuscode", "modifiedon", "modifiedby", "modifiedonbehalfby", "owningbusinessunit" , "processid". If you need to edit other fields, please reactivate the case."

    Hi Shakti,

Please check the permissions for the owner of the record.

Yes, Just deactivate the workflow which was used for update 2 fields and then it is working fine.

Just to be clear, your issue is solved?

I have to agree with Wouter, that error box doesn't look like a standard Dynamics CRM error message and is probably generated buy a custom plugin. Although I have only ever used a Windows PC with Dynamics, and maybe on a non-Windows PC errors look different? What OS are you using?

    Thanks for the help man!

Actually, I have an active workflow which is used to update 2 fields when a case record is resolved.

A 80040625 error is afaik a plugin issue.

You will need to look in the trace errors to see what (default) plugin is giving you the error.

Go to settings > administration > system settings > customization tabs and set the level for tracing to 'all'.

Next, get the error again and verify the record in the trace logs in D365.

After that, disable the tracing again.

Other than that I can only think of a problem with the bpf used on the case.

If that would be the case you should be able to deactivate 'abandon' the bpf on the case and reactivate it?

This looks like a plugin to me.

Do you have any plugins registered against cases?

  • RE: Business Process Error

When I am going to Re-activate the resolved case record then I am getting an error pop-up message as I mentioned above and below is the screenshot.
