Checks will not post

All checks are printed, but they did not post. I thought I had clicked on the Begin Processing after verifying that the checks and amounts were corrects, but...I have tried in several places to release the batch, AP check update (Post), Release AP batches. Either way, no batches are showing. Unfortunately, I am not positive of the batch number, though I have a good idea. Whether using F3 or the batch number on the AP check update screen, I cannot find the combination to find the activate the batch to post. Thanks for any help.
