We have set up suggested items for a number of our products. ie product 123 has product ABC as a suggested item
The issue we are having is that when entering an order it appears that if product 123 is not in stock, the suggested items cannot be accessed?
Is this a setting or is this how this feature is set up?

The document types available on the "Suggest Items" are: Quote, Order, Invoice and Fulfillment Invoice.
Ok, so I would have to use this work around, and then go and back order the item.
I cannot select back order and have the suggested items pop up, correct?
When entering a sales order for an item which has no stock, the Sales Quantity Shortage options appears in order to choose which option to apply. These options are as follows;
1- Override Shortage
2- Back Order all
3- Back Order Balance
4- Cancel All
5- Cancel Balance
6- Distribution
If you choose to "Override Shortage" the Suggest Sales Item Entry pops up automatically.
